I managed the Auburn Legion Baseball Program. Duties included:
During my time as the Auburn Legion Baseball Manager, we invested over $200,000 in field improvements. The infield and dugouts were renovated and new lights and scoreboard installed. Improvements were made possible through donations and fundraising efforts.
In late 2010, the owners of the Auburn State Theater donated the business and facility to Auburn Public Schools. When I started at superintendent in July 2011, it became clear that without major renovations the theater would close. The film projector needed to be replaced with a digital projector and the seating was substandard.
Over the course of the next 18 months, we were able to fundraise over $100,000. This allowed us to purchase a new projector and replace the seating. The success of the project allowed us to continue our renovations with a new concessions area and to purchase ADA equipment.
The theater now serves as an educational and community asset. Our FBLA students sell pre-movie ads to local business. Our digital media class produces the ads for the theater.
My family and I serve Meals on Wheels each year in July when we lived in Auburn.
I served on the board of our local Teammates program. Teammates is a mentoring program that pairs adults with students in our school.
My wife and I taught Godteen classes and sponsored FCA.
I have coached several youth teams including football, softball, baseball, and basketball.
